In this book, Phoebe, a girl in middle school, loses her brother in a bike accident. This book is about her grief process. I liked how Barbara Park expressed Phoebe's feelings so well. I like how it was in the first person. I wish there was a little more action, though. (CB)

In Mick Harte Was Here, Mick dies from a bike crash. His family goes through a time of sadness and grief, but in the end the Harte family slowly becomes a family again. I think you should read this book because the book is sad, yet humorous. Also, you will enjoy this book because it teaches a lesson in a funny and enjoyable story. (ML)

Mick Harte Was Here was great! It's about a boy that died from a tragic bike accident. It's also about the sister's reaction to the accident. At first I was skeptical, but I loved it! I liked it so much because of the author's voice. She had to write through the voice of a teen. I really think you should read it. (EC)

I recommend Mick Harte Was Here because it's emotionally twisting. It's a really exciting book. It's about a boy who dies in a bike accident. His sister's life is turned upside-down. She and her parents pull through their bad times. (RT)

I recommend Mick Harte Was Here by Barbara Park because it's a good book about a middle school girl whose brother, Mick, died in an accident. He died because he wasn't wearing a helmet when he accidentally slammed into a pick-up truck. Phoebe's family grieved a lot, but Phoebe did a few things to help her remember some good memories about Mick. I loved this book because its purpose is to tell you what happens when you don't wear a helmet. I think you should wear a helmet; otherwise, you might end up like Mick: dead! I don't think you want that. (MZ)

Mick Harte Was Here is a very sad, but good, book. Mick, who dies from a bike accident, has a sister named Phoebe. The book is from Phoebe's side of the story. The way the author put it was good. I felt like I was in the book. It was a good book. Barbara Park is a good author. (SM)
